Franken enlists `SNL star to lift debate funds

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Live from Minneapolis, it"s Al Franken and "Saturday Night Live" star Seth Meyers!

Minnesota"s youth Democratic senator outlayed most of the 2008 debate downplaying his years on NBC"s blueprint humerous entertainment show. But he"s embracing those roots this week end with a fundraiser for his domestic movement cabinet featuring Meyers, host of the "Weekend Update" shred and the show"s head writer.

Franken was a bard and actor on the show from 1975 to 1980 and again from 1985 to 1995. He grew up in Minnesota and returned in 2005, where he went on to successfully plea obligatory Republican Sen. Norm Coleman.

Tickets to Saturday"s eventuality at the Carlyle common ownership building are $50. Proceeds will good Franken"s Midwest Values PAC, that is raising income to await Democratic U.S. House and Senate possibilities in the Nov election.
